Through grant funding and our partnership with Brevard County Public School System, Brevard Zoo is able to offer specialized programs to elementary school students and plans to expand some of these programs to middle school and high school students in the future. Zoo ExplorersIn conjunction with Brevard County Public School System, the Zoo provides a special program for school age children that provides motivational enrichment to Cambridge and Endeavor students once a week. Learn more Zoo SchoolImagine taking at-risk students and placing them in a unique environment where every day becomes a learning adventure. For all the fifth grade students from Sherwood, Endeavor, and Cambridge Elementary Schools. Students and teachers from these schools use the Zoo as a learning laboratory for seven weeks of the school year. Learn more Lagoon QuestFor nine years, the Zoo has been leading elementary school students in field explorations of the Indian River Lagoon. In the Fall of 2005, this 4 1/2 hour exploration became a standard part of the Brevard County Public School curriculum for every fourth grader. Teachers from each of the county's elementary schools are trained to integrate this program into their classrooms and more than 5,700 students explore the Lagoon each year.
